St Catherine’s Convent High School is divided into the GET (General Education and Training) and the FET (Further Education and Training) phases. We integrate Grade 7 into our High School as this is the first year in an important learning phase.

Sport at St Catherine's

We promote teamwork, discipline, and school spirit through a wide range of sports for all learners to enjoy and grow.

At St Catherine’s Convent we aim to develop our learners in all spheres. St Catherine’s Convent acknowledges the importance of sport as a way of fostering a good self-image, participation skills, leadership skills and the ability to work co-operatively in a team.

Culture at St Catherine's

Our cultural activities foster creativity and confidence through music, drama, art, and public speaking.

Culture at St Catherine's

At St Catherine’s Convent we believe that learners should not only be given the opportunity to explore the academic and sporting side of their character, but should also be given the chance to experience all the cultural activities that are on offer.

Aftercare / Study

Our aftercare programme provides a safe, supportive space for learners to complete homework, play, and unwind after school hours.

Aftercare / Study

Aftercare is offered as extra for the 00 and 000 (Pink and Blue) classes. Baby Fledglings and Fledglings do not pay extra for aftercare. It is included in our services.

Religion

At St Catherine’s Convent the practice of faith and a Catholic Ethos underscore all that we do. Our vision and mission for the school are based on Gospel values. We acknowledge that some of our learners come from backgrounds where different faiths may be practiced and we encourage the acceptance and tolerance of all religions.

St Catherine’s Convent is a school community where our learners are made to feel that they belong and that they make an important contribution to each other’s well being and that of their wider community. Our learners are encouraged to achieve and fulfil their own unique levels of excellence in all the areas of the school’s curriculum and extra-mural offerings. We encourage our learners to adopt an outlook on life that reflects the importance of Christian values.

Facilities

St Catherine’s Convent’s facilities are well-maintained and designed for our learners’ needs.

We offer newly-refurbished Netball and Tennis courts, outdoor Pickleball courts for Juniors, and a match-size Hockey field for practices and games. The heated 25m swimming pool has covered stands and a thatch lapa for shade.

The Auditorium hosts classes, meetings, musical practices, and exams. The purpose-built dance studio offers ballet, modern, and hip-hop classes. The school hall is where assemblies, Masses, productions, and dances are held, with a sound and lighting gallery.

The outdoor Grotto is used for religious services, and the consecrated Chapel hosts smaller prayer services.

The Robotics Lab and Computer Lab provide hands-on technology experiences, while the Science Lab offers exciting experiments.

Aftercare learners enjoy a kitchen and dining room for daily meals, plus fresh meals from the tuckshop.

Our youngest learners have two playgrounds with educational equipment. The school provides Wi-Fi for all, along with 24-hour security.

Our facilities blend seamlessly with the campus, fostering a learning and innovative environment.

Past Pupils’ Association

The purpose of the Past Pupils’ Association is to promote and maintain social ties between former pupils, parents and teachers for the benefit of the St Catherine’s family past, present and future.  Members of the Association will have the opportunity to participate in Past Pupil Association events ( many of which will have a gender positive flair); members will be able to connect and network locally and globally; they will be able to share professional learning opportunities; they will have the opportunity to offer their expertise and experience to support and mentor the younger St Catherine’s  generation; the Association will raise funds for the school; and promote the good name of St Catherine’s Convent.
