St Catherine’s Convent offers a comprehensive academic program for Grades 10-12, emphasising not only academic excellence but also the holistic development of its learners. Academic excellence and an involvement in a variety of extramural activities ensures an all-round and creative approach to education. As an independent school, our girls write the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) final examinations, a set of examinations whose standards have been benchmarked internationally, allowing our girls the freedom to pursue tertiary education both locally and globally.

St Catherine’s consistently achieves results that are above the national average in IEB exams. We have also maintained a 100% pass rate in the Grade 12 final exams for 48 years.

A high number of students achieve exemption for tertiary education. St Catherine’s encourages participation in the English and Mathematics Olympiads, as well as Science expos. Various tutoring systems are in place where learners help each other in subjects like Mathematics, English, and Afrikaans.
