How do you take the perfect picture? Good lighting, thoughtful composition, the right camera and most importantly, being in exactly the right place at the right moment. While a photograph may only take a second to capture, the skill behind it takes hours of practice. Here at SCC, our photographers have spent the year developing their techniques, experimenting with different perspectives and learning how to turn ordinary moments into images worth remembering. So, the next time you scroll past a photograph on social media, remember the photographer behind the photo. 2026 has been a fantastic year for photography, filled with opportunities to learn, create and capture. Our club took part in workshops led by an experienced photographer, exploring everything from composition and framing to editing techniques. These sessions really helped us understand the theory behind the perfect picture. Our cameras have also been there to capture the heart of SCC. From sports matches filled with energy and school spirit to the quieter moments in between, our photographers have worked behind the scenes to preserve the memories that make this year special. Our photographers also participated in a project titled “Colours of the rainbow” where they took 6 photos each one different colour of the rainbow. Because photography isn’t simply about taking a picture. It’s about capturing a moment, telling a story and giving it a frame.
