On 7 and 14  February 2026, the SCC Equestrian Team competed at the first SANESA (South African National Equestrian Schools Association) qualifier for the year. The team will compete throughout the year, aiming to qualify for provincial and national team selection. While representing our school, the girls had successful days all around! One of our Matric leaners achieved two third places in her 70cm showjumping classes, and first places in her Working Riding level 7 and In-Hand Utility level 3 classes and one of our Grade 8 leaners placed third in her two 60cm showjumping classes.

These results are an incredible achievement, in some very competitive classes and the team has started the year off with a bang, leading the High School showjumping discipline and second in Working Riding and In-Hand for the Johannesburg district.

Not only did the results show up on paper, but the girls had a great day out with their horses, learning patience and determination in every ride to be back and even better at the next SANESA qualifier! Most importantly, all the girls and their horses had a fun couple days of riding, and we encourage and cheer on our Equestrian team as they tackle the journey of qualifying for regionals and nationals in 2026.
